Daxton’s Friends for Canine Education & Awareness was formed by a group of canine enthusiasts for exclusively charitable and educational purposes. With a passion for animals, particularly of the canine persuasion, we strive to serve the public by providing education about various canine breeds, proper canine safety, as well as by providing emotional support and counseling to victims of canine related incidents.
Although our organization will NOT participate in political elections or rallies, Daxton’s Friends serves as a resource for legislators and legislation bodies addressing canine related public safety. Our goal is to support the implementation of tools to ensure healthy canine ownership and public safety.
Daxton’s Friends for Canine Education & Awareness is run entirely by volunteers who are not compensated for their services.
Why We Started Daxton’s Friends
Daxton’s Friends for Canine Education & Awareness was formed in honor of Daxton Borchardt, the son of one of the founding Friends, who passed away on March 6th, 2013 due to severe injuries sustained in a dog attack. Daxton’s Friends for Canine Education & Awareness would like to educate the public about the importance of understanding dog breeds and how with proper education and pet care, the number of dog related incidents can be reduced.
Each of the founding friends has a passion for pet ownership and believes in providing education and resources to help pet owners make the best decisions for themselves and their four legged companions.
